Sneak peek of the Guinness museum,

One of the two displays in place for the Dr books.  Very pleased.  More pics will follow once the 'museum' is completed which will hopefully be soon.

1961 Flying Toucan lamp from Carltonware.

Just acquired the lamp to go with the flying toucan set from 1961. As you can see I need the shade.  There are two sorts, one with the running toucans around the bottom and the other with two large toucans and the words "My Goodness".  Any help obtaining, leads, etc. will be greatly appreciated.

Silver Plated Guinness 1/4pt Tankard

A further addition. A 1/4pt silver plated tankard.  Looking at the marks the tankard is made by Elkington from Walsall, West Mids and is dated 1945 (The J in the shield). Don't know if the Guinness engraving came with the tankard or a later addition - nonetheless I like it.

The first Doctor Book - 1933 Edition 1!

After searching for nearly 10 years I have been fortunate to obtain the missing Doctor Book from my collection. They were issued for 24 years in total starting in 1933 and ending with the 1966 edition except for the period between 1940 to 1949 inclusive.
I have had all 24 years of books for a quite a time now but the first edition, in 1933, was issued in two versions making a total of 25 books!
The 1933 edition was issued firstly as GA281 and again later in '33 as GA281A.
GA281 is the rarer one of the two which I did not have until today!
The differences are that GA281 has a mixture of black and white with color illustrations.  Also a couple of pages are different between the first print and the second.
So I am over the moon that at last I have the full set. Pics of GA281 below. Pictures of the other books I have posted previously.
